Would anyone here have any interest in doing a daily/weekly game save tradeoff?
The idea is that we pick a game (or games if there's enough interest), but only a single user can play at any point in time. At the end of a user's time with the save, they update the post about what they did with their time with the save and any funny or interesting stories/observations they made once they inherited the world. They then upload the save for the next participant to download and begin playing.
Prime candidates for games would be any of the Animal Crossing series (New Horizons seems especially interesting for this due to island customization), the Sims, world/civilization sims like Dwarf Fortress or RimWorld, creative games like Minecraft/Terraria, or factory/logistics games like Factorio, Satisfactory, Dyson Sphere Program, or Shapez.
I'm open to any other game that people think would be a good fit. Hopefully this can be a fun outlet for people to collaboratively work on a space together, and probably enjoy the hilarity of things gone wrong, as well as provide some structure for semi-creative writing at the end of your time with the save.
If you're even remotely interested in participating please leave a comment with what game(s) you'd like to potentially do this with (resources for acquiring any of the games I listed above can be linked once/if we settle on going forward).
That sounds awesome, I'd love to participate. Just don't be surprised if you load up your dwarf fortress save and find the fortress filled with statues of elves slaying dwarves to protect the trees
Dwarf Fortress seems overwhelmingly popular for this. What do people think about daily/weekly hand-offs for this game?
I'd love to join and daily sounds good to me since there's quite a few people interested, plus however the list of succession is organized people could hopefully postpone their turn by a day or two if they're busy.
The best thing about valheim was that I was still able to cook and do labor for my friends that was well appreciated when I couldn't physically be near them
seems interesting! I just started playing Drawf Fortress
Every Dwarf Fortress succession game turns into Boatmurdered eventually.
