I was reading more about the situation in Bolivia while listening to spotify, and then as soon as I finished the article an ad comes on. It's like having some sort of evil jester on your back to remind you that this is the system and nothing is being done about it. I dunno maybe y'all are desensitized to it but shit gives me some major existential dread.
I've taken to verbally abusing my microphone whenever an ad plays because I know those fuckers can hear me.
Adverts make me so angry these days. So much effort and "creativity" goes into this massive industry that achieves nothing, no one's even learning about products through adverts or anything remotely useful its literally only a recursive money sink of the bigger brands can afford more advertising and people buy what they've seen. It takes up so much of everyone's time and attention and is just a black hole of labour and soul. God damn it.
in case you haven't heard the Bill Hicks bit
Bill Hicks - Marketing and Advertising
the album version has some fucking music laid over it you can find other versions on youtube
sounds like spotify is a problem, is it really worth it if you hear ads?
That's fair enough I suppose. I just really enjoy music so I think the mental health loss from missing out on it is worse than the ads.
could you maybe torrent some of your favorite music and build a local library?
I don't think setting a up a public library of pirated private music is a good way to stay un-fined and out of prison lol
huh? why would it have to be public, I'm talking about having a hard drive with some mp3s on it for your own use
Ah my bad I conflated local library on my computer with a brick and mortar local library. Ignore my ignorance Lmao
