I get the 'sir' thing but does the name Ryan have any meaning that might be going over my head here?

Or is it just "le man name for le female lol lol lol bazinga?"

I feel like this is a really dumb question but just making sure im not missing something shitty.

Sirona is a Celtic / old Irish name, as is Ryan. Like, i'm not defending their hamfisted fuckery but a little reading goes a long way.

Yeah it's almost certainly not an intentional sligght, but i'm going along with it because fuck'em.

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sirona

In Celtic polytheism, Sirona was a goddess worshipped predominantly in East Central Gaul and along the Danubian limes. A healing deity, she was associated with healing springs; her attributes were snakes and eggs.

yeah, it's a generally male name, and especially combined with the first name is pretty shitty

but ryan is also a first name, and when used as one is a fairly common male name. it could be a coincidence, but i have no reason to give them the benefit of the doubt

It's a common Irish surname. Fuck 'em, but saying it's a deliberate insult is a big stretch and people who aren't already on board are going to think you're being silly or acting in bad faith. This is really a nothingburger. SIrona is the name of a pagan celtic woman diety and Ryan is a common Irish surname.

i get that there's plausible deniability, but given everything surrounding the game i just don't believe it's a coincidence

when the franchise has a history of names like cho chang and kingsley shacklebolt? i'm not saying it was an intentional insult, but i don't think those names were intentionally offensive either
