In most contexts no, but all JK Rowling names are like "Irish O'Carbomb" and "Caster Spelles" and "Greedy McBankerstein" and all JK Rowling place names are Google Translate results for "magic place" and "magic castle".

So when everyone is named TheWay ThatIBeLike and your single trans character's name starts with fucking SIR and their last name is just a man's first name-

Idk seems like you have to squint for it esp if that other person quoting some wiki shit about sirona being a Celtic goddess being accurate

Like SerLava just said, when there is a history of picking offensive names for minority characters it's not just squinting for it or trying to find the worst interpretation. Especially given the reason the character was added to the game to try to hand wave away some criticism.

Yeah I also just looked up the meaning of the name Ryan, which people like that absolutely do, and it's also Celtic. It means "little king". Come tf on

It's a common Irish surname. Might as well be smith or jones or park or something.

Yeah they don't really have a tradition of naming their characters Brian Smith and Paul Jones and Mary Davis and Kevin Johnson

No reason to give her or the enormous number of people involved in this character's creation the benefit of the doubt

Nah I can abso fucking lutely see JK Rowling literally call up the game studio and tell them she wants that and to name her after this goddess. Absolutely
