That's how I got put an a free* trial** prescription of antidepressants. That's all it took. Telling the doctor I felt sad.

*they give out samples to doctors to hand out

**you absolutely aren't supposed to stop cold turkey

Same story for me. I want off these antidepressants, they don’t help, but if I don’t take them it feels like my brain is getting tiny electric shocks all day. My doctor acted like she’s never heard of this withdrawal symptom even though it looks extremely common from my google searches

Oh yeah, brain zaps. Suffered through those when i ran out of money and had to taper off the remaining pills left over. Also the doctor who prescribed them to me seemed completely unaware that there could be any side effects when I mentioned the side effects I was experiencing.

Finest healthcare system I'm the world. :amerikkka-clap:

fuck big pharma but if you're telling a doctor you're feeling sad, what do you think they can do?give you a prescription for better material conditions you can take to your landlord/boss/bank?

The doctor asks how you’ve been feeling. Anything other than “great” and they pull out the prescription pad. The doctor doesn’t have to DO anything about it, but when all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail.
