Man, I wonder why the Xbox never took off in Japan

:windows-cool: = 🍔= :amerikkka: = 🎮

Someone explain the marketing :galaxy-brain: here

"We've met in a strange place, haven't we" is how I would interpret that slogan

They made a smaller, redesigned, joypad for the Japanese market because the OG Xbox pad was deemed to be too big and clumsy. It's just a gag showing how it can be easily held.

Classic design featuring the original Xbox animated startup screen played right inside the Xbox Button

$70 because they crammed a screen on it that you'll never ever look at wtf.

Madkatz could have made a more accurate replica for $20.

It's wild how much more expensive controllers are nowadays. I recently looked at a list of past orders on my account at an electronics retailer and noticed I bought a special edition official Xbox 360 controller in 2012 for 41 euros. When I bought my DS4 some years ago, it cost somewhere in the ballpark of 50 euros, but all the current Sony and Xbox controllers are close to 70.

Yeah, it's all pricey nowadays. Don't look at the price of vr controllers, i'm still waiting on some madkatz vr.

Only tangentially related, but don't buy replacements for drifting Switch controllers, you can pop em open and fix them with a cheap security screwdriver kit and a cut-up index card

I was under the impression that it launched in Japan with the smaller joypad right out of the gate though.
