i think one or two of them might be romani. then again, might not. which would make this an extremely representative body.

Romani racism is such an integral part of the European psyche, forming most of their earliest memories, that to attempt and separate them from it would leave them in a catatonic state.

            not catatonic, enraged.

if you offer even the mildest criticism of their racism (without even implying that they are racist, just speaking generalities about what's going on), they'll come at you shouting their anecdotes and their racist tropes.

because how dare you imply the romani dont deserve it.

and this is when speaking to liberals.

like, seriously, they'll say things like "we tried lifting them up and it didnt work and they're not even grateful". what they mean is that there were occasional short-lived bumbling attempts by the state to help the romani get out of the generational poverty and everything they're in, and after doing that for a few years, the "problem" hasnt gone away (ie, they're still poor, brown, alive and speak slightly nonstandard dialects), so clearly fuck them.

All the sort of progressive liberals near me have taken to saying "Well what if the I-don't-wanna-say-the-ethnicity [sic] come and steal it" and like at that point just be racist. Like just go for it, it's not illegal, at least own your convictions
