Then I dug deeper and found that Steve Harris actually wrote most of their material and gave them another shot, on the basis that "Fear is the Key" was written about the Thatcher and Reagan administrations' inaction on the AIDS epidemic due to both of them seeing it as a way to systematically murder "undesirables." So then I listened to the song and heard the lyrics making it sound like LGBTQ+ folks are all needle-sharing orgy-goers
