i think because Pantera is nazi-coded, or some of the members are actual nazis? I assume it's to avoid the "let a nazi in your bar, it becomes a nazi bar" phenomenon.

"No, no, you see, when he said 'whites rule' and gave a Nazi salute at a show, it was just a joke, bro! They were having a wine drinking contest back stage, that's all!"

The "white wine" excuse will go down as probably the laziest ass covering in metal history.

            Fuck Pantera

Pantera is a band that has music I sometimes like the sound of, but I cannot SAFTA (separate art from the artist) for them. It's just not possible for me, especially as a black and queer metalhead.

I kinda have the same issue with Iron Maiden ever since Bruce went full steam ahead as a xenophobic Brexit dipshit. Then I dug deeper and found that Steve Harris actually wrote most of their material and gave them another shot, on the basis that "Fear is the Key" was written about the Thatcher and Reagan administrations' inaction on the AIDS epidemic due to both of them seeing it as a way to systematically murder "undesirables." So then I listened to the song and heard the lyrics making it sound like LGBTQ+ folks are all needle-sharing orgy-goers cringe

Fuck Pantera, though. Damageplan is automatically sus as well, and there should be a version of the Doomsday Clock whose hands indicate how close Kayla Kent is to finally getting that swastika face tattoo.

Riker has good taste in bands. I saw Mob 47 once and a dude was passed out on the stage for the whole set.

Throwback to the time King Gizz had to replace some guitars mid-tour, where Stu bought some Dimebag Darrell edition guitar, but then taped over all the iconography so as to promote their shit as little as possible
