Help me out here y'all. I got some sort of all natural bio organic bullshit granola bars and I could do with it, but when I'm out doing centuries I'd really rather have something more savory to munch on my bike.

But, this is crucial, I don't get to do this often, and often with little time to prepare, so ideally, it'd be either real easy to make before a days ride or shelf stable. Commercial, home made, I don't care, hit me with your best options. I don't care about looks, I've eaten raw smoked tofu out of my feed bag but that's more proteins than carbs in the end, so not ideal

are olives an option? you can find them pitted and vaccum packed, and also as paste. With some nice crackers/biscuits/bread they're probably going to be pretty satisfying. Hell, you could probably put together a nice meze for yourself (olives, hummus, pita, maybe some baba ghanouj or ajvar, whatever dips you like, really) that'll keep pretty decently over the course of a day.

The filled pita is a very good call but man I can't go assembling olive tapenade crackers while bombing down a road at 35kph I'm not Peter Sagan

ahh I assumed you'd stop at some point. Well, you could also do some sort of nut butter - there's a bunch of varieties that come in packets that might be pretty easy to open with a spare hand/your mouth.

what kind of fucking casual do you take me for /jk

Ehh, must nut butters tend to be very much protein and fat, i need them carbs. But again, pita with hummus and like dried tomatos, as suggested, or something would work very well and also be very gourmand. Might use one of my bidons for a bottle of wine, even, going back to the roots

Maybe Onigiri? It's those Japanese filled rice balls.

Hand-pie could be good. Or tiny pierogies. Or any dumpling really.

Some stores sell premade dough for dumplings, then u can fill them with whatever. (Have to make sure they use oil and not butter though). Fill with potato, caramelized onion, vegan cheese or soft tofu, etc.

Onigri is gonna be hard to get and I kind of doubt it freezes well but just chucking some frozen vegan pierogies into a ziplock would totally work out by the time I get to eating them unless it's winter so cheers

Pan relleno (like a mini-calzone), empanadas, toasted/caramelized nuts/sunflower seeds, peanut butter

In US markets we have a ready to eat shelf stable rice vacuum sealed in pouches. One of the higher end brands has a quinoa & brown rice medley for a good complex carb. I've eaten something similar out of the pouch cold with a spoon and it was palatable.

I'm not sure what kind of shape the food should have, but how about some bread with hummus? Maybe dried tomato or grilled veggie slices in there too? You could also make rolls or pockets with pizza or flaky dough, filled with crumbled smoked tofu and tomato or spinach, soy yoghurt and chickpeas, it's pretty quick if you use readymade dough

Ideally it'd be sort of granola bar shaped so it fits nicely into the feed bag, @The_Walkening pointed out filled pitas and that should work out pretty good
