I just checked and it's been a red state these past two elections, so they probably didn't respond because it isn't part of the critical states needed to win until it became a huge press crisis. I think Trump will bring this up on the debates regardless.

By a solid margin too (8% in 2020), so the dems probably consider it a lost cause at the moment
