tl;dr: capeshit/MCU/nerds/streaming killed sex in movie theaters.

Really there should just be better Content Warnings and more media for Ace people.

      No arguments here.

I’m a big fan of the film Call me By Your Name, which sexuality is a BIG part of

If it was presented in a way where the audience knows what they're getting into, that's great.

My problem is when Netflix jump cuts to :awooga: :libertarian-alert: :hypersus: without warning (except the assumption that Netflix shows are going to do that as a general gimmick) for sheer gimmick purposes and to be "mature" in a show where it didn't really matter and didn't add anything of value to besides :awooga: :libertarian-alert: :hypersus: for its own sake.

Every trailer I saw of the film made it pretty clear there was going to be some gay fucking in the film.

Sounds like Brokeback Mountain. Which is a good thing. :order-of-lenin:

I haven’t seen a Netflix show that had THAT blatant of a jump cut to sex, idk if you have any examples.

Most were highly forgettable crime/mystery shows that were a blur to me so I don't remember their names, unfortunately. I stopped browsing that genre entirely because that gimmick (in particular gore/torture in an otherwise quippy quirky presentation) was tiresome in all its forms.

Freaking Star Trek Discovery did that too, both gory violence and sexual violence for its own sake, where it generally does nothing and almost no fan asked for it.

If I was too quick on the editing again I mentioned Star Trek Discovery which has some seriously out of left field torture, gory violence, and sexual violence moments.

It wasn't true crime, as far as I know. It was fiction and made no pretensions being true stories.
