when i was in middle school (early 2000s), it started coming out in the states in Shonen Jump. I remember falling in love with it, and going to the library so I could read the japanese-translated scans. I remember getting to around chapter 150 or so, and realizing that there were already probably almost 200 more to catch up to japan, and i promply gave up.
I love that its still going, and every now and then I'm curious about what's happening, but god you will not catch me reading 1000 chapters of that now.
Every time i hear anything about One Piece, it sounds incredibly based, but the manga is like over 1000 issues and it's not even completely finished.
