Netflix should be ashamed that they paid a charlatan idiot to misinform people. What a bunch of profit hungry scumbags

I actually watched the first two episodes with my mom. She likes Ancient Aliens (not a true believer, just kind of likes the vibes/general idea of it) and I like making fun of it, to her mild disappointment ("why are you so cynical?"). This has the exact same vibe but with better production values. It even does the same cheap trick of having a bunch of qualified people talk about normal stuff and then sneak in a "John Doe, Science fiction author" to spout unhinged shit.

Not mentioned in this video are all the Joe Rogan clips. Almost every time Hancock talks about being controversial there will be a clip of his appearance on JRE in the background. I have never seen a guy so proud of being in a podcast.

Also the guy in this video is kind of cute

why do they all look like this now

:thinking-about-it: hippie looks have finally become old enough? :galaxy-brain: in hippie times historians were dressed like the 1890s

I remember hearing Graham Hancock when I used to listen to Joe Rogan.

I just remember him complaining a lot about how these ideas weren't being taken seriously by "big academia". He spent so much time complaining about that that I don't really even remember his theories/thoughts.

Like most "alt history" theories, he comes up with an idea based on a hunch and then discards the scientific method and instead only looks for things that would confirm his guess. It's been years since I listened to anything with him on it but it's just aggressively anti-scientific, including his rage against anybody who put in the work to get a degree.

I watched it yesterday, it's pretty good. Milo covers several episodes of the series in that one hour, so even though it's long, he's covering a lot of ground.
