So it looks fun and exactly the kinda thing I'll watch with Kiddo but:

The thing that kinda left me shook watching this trailer is that I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've ever seen the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles look, act, and sound like actual fucking teenagers as opposed to like early 20s college fratboys.

Like I guess its a consequence of the fact that almost everyone playing a teenager in highschool on TV, in the 90s especially, was a 30 year old...but still...kinda weird on reflection.

Oh you're such a liar. Look at this liar. Everybody come look and see this liar who is clearly going to see this movie for themself and is using this "kiddo" as cover

Oh don't get me wrong: I'd see it without him also...but if you think I'm faking having a kiddo you gotta admit based on my post history I'm committed to the fucking bit!

Think they made the heads too big but it looks actually animated. They race swapped April and made her a teenage journalist instead of a seasoned reporter so it's going to make the :frothingfash: chuds lose their shit.

The weapons actually hurt rather than just knock people over? REEEEEE MUH CHILDHOOD!

I'll watch it. See what they got.

This looks sick. If A Tribe Called Quest is indicative of the soundtrack, that's gonna be great too.

Neat, had some doubts hearing about this, the cast is too stacked, but I guess I'm a sleeper TMNT mark and taking the turtles and making them actually teenagers is a pretty fresh take.

Is every new animation going for that weird stop-motion look now?

Like puss in boots, spiderman and now this?

Only a year after the movie finale of Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I wish it had a 3rd season but this reboot makes it clear that won’t happen.

Which was a really good version. It put the turtles as teens from 13-17 in age and different turtle types, plus everyone got a character arc and growth while being funny and having some cool moments.

The actual trailer looks great, it could be fun, and I’m glad to see more visual styles in CG animation, sketchy claymation is exciting.

I hate Seth Rogan because of The Interview and will never watch anything he has made again.

All I want is a TMNT film or show that's based on the original comics and has that dark & gritty feel. Is that too much to ask?

The first movie is not bad and is probably the closest thing to the comics, but still falls a little short imo.

Still probably gonna be the closest you'll get. I've got a soft spot for that movie cause it made the Foot Clan seem fucking awesome. I wanna be like that Sid Vicious shirt kid and hang out at a sweet indoor skatepark and smoke cartons of regular or menthol cigarettes.

This is exactly what I was thinking when I first saw it. Their hideout awesome and as a kid I've always dreamed of living in some place like that.

I saw it as a super little kid a couple years after it came out, as an early teen and in my 20s a few times cause I'm a movie nerd and it's a fascinating film behind the scenes. The whole time, I still feel like the Foot Clan was just the scruffy working class skater kids to the Ninja Turtles suburban brats.

Foot Clan are Chain Punk, Ninja Turtles are egg punk

We've spent the last 20 years with every animation, including more small scale indie stuff, ripping off Pixar's bland style. At least this style is changing it up.

I don't really watch animated movies anymore but I'm glad it's looking like they're moving away from trying to look realistic and back to looking, ya know, animated
