A white guy neo-nazi could do another 9/11, brag about it in court with the smuggest grin on his face, literally have his defense be "I did it for teh lulz", and the general public will screech about how "Is ThIs WhErE oUr CoUnTrY iS cOmInG tO!?!?" if he so much as gets a slap on the wrist.
No, I don't think so. For Americans, killing a protestor or two is good. A lynching here and there is fine. A mass shooting is generally denounced, but has some supporters. But ten billion dollars in property damage?!
