One minute to murder, 3 years to convict, one day to pardon. Very cool legal system.

I always wonder if /pol/ is smugly laughing that they can always get away with it, or are they secretly jealous that even your average suburban shlubby democrat dad will always be seen as more of a "dangerous subversive" than they can ever dream of?

You’d think all the gun rights people would be outraged that a man exercising his rights to carry a firearm was killed for no discernible reason, and the murderer is now rewarded for it.

Love to live in a country where the only way to convict a few white supremacists is through months of nationwide uprisings, the deaths of even more martyrs, and the arrests of thousands. agony-yehaw

A white guy neo-nazi could do another 9/11, brag about it in court with the smuggest grin on his face, literally have his defense be "I did it for teh lulz", and the general public will screech about how "Is ThIs WhErE oUr CoUnTrY iS cOmInG tO!?!?" if he so much as gets a slap on the wrist.

No, I don't think so. For Americans, killing a protestor or two is good. A lynching here and there is fine. A mass shooting is generally denounced, but has some supporters. But ten billion dollars in property damage?! porky-scared-flipped

This will continue to escalate until tit for tat responses occur that make them think twice about it in future, but I don't think any group exists that is radical enough to carry out that kind of action right now.

This is a solid example of how far the left is from being prepared to properly fight its corner. In a scenario where the left was more developed and prepared for this the guy would get shot by some extreme radical maoist fringe group operating in the mountains and none of the ruling class would ever consider doing this again.

What is this "Governor Pardon" thing? It's like something out of the bible. Do other countries have people running for elections on the promise of legally overturning justice or is it just the USA?

Most countries does have the institution of pardon, though usually reserved for the head of state only (and also usually with multi-tier legal procedure leading to it) as remains of the old royal pardon tradition. It is used pretty rarily though.
