Eventually people are going to have to come to terms with China not going anywhere and continuing to improve. It's going to be funny to see people's brains shatter trying to understand how this happened
Honestly I bet people will just run with whatever talking points bubble up out of the media. My guess is something like "well they only appear to be doing fine, but actually the EVIL CCP is forcing everyone to work 100 hours a week, even grandmothers and babies, and all Chinese citizens are miserable."
There is some mindset within Americans that being totalitarian works, but at the cost of individual happiness, partially due to propaganda, since the US is the totalitarian one, so it will be like "sure, China is the most powerful economy on Earth, but that's at the cost of FREEDOM".
