I like this post because it prompted me to think of ways to get chapo discorders onto the site. We're over 3300 users now, which is a huge success so close to launch, and its rising rapidly. I'm pretty sure the majority of that is people in the discord going 'fuck, fine.'
I think a lotta people just need a lil prompt; we gotta make it look like the cool thing to do ;) hahaha
Honestly, there is huge value in both communities imo. :af-heart:
I think this is a brilliant point, and I've sent it over for the brilliant minds on the development team to consider :) good shout, comrade :chavez-salute:
Hahaha harm reduction, I love that. You can see in your userpage that front-end exists for matrix integration. It's not up and running yet, but integration is definitely in the cards. And it will be majestic.
Then we can slowly win over comrades from the dark side of the chatstream looks at own hands
You have to have 'See NSFW' turned on on your user profile to see the custom emojis for now. Basically, the devs were concerned about imageposting, and so made the user NSFW filter apply to emojis as a quick fix. This will not be the permanent situation, but, for now, if you want to see the custom chapo emojis, you have to enable See NSFW content on your user profile page.
So I do get that it's not the most elegant solution, but that's the answer for now. Sometime not too long from now you'll be able to see emojis and still have NSFW content filtered out, the devs are working diligently :thumbs up:

Discord has a "suppress @everyone" feature that 70% of the userbase uses. This results in people not receiving the @everyone message you sent out.
You can bypass this by making a new role on the discord. Adding literally the entire discord into it. Then use that to send an @ ping out.
Harass people to join.

You should also consider a bot DMing everyone on the server that the site is up.
Thanks for this idea! The outreach team is talking about it now, so again, thanks so much :)
having better platforms than discord would be ideal tho; even if that's the preferred format. discord is deeply fucked as a platform.
Full agree. I'm the #1 shitposter on discord main, and I both hate discord and don't trust it.
One of the middle-distance goals for the devs is to eventually migrate the discord onto a self-hosted matrix server . :red-fist:

Hahaha mrw :P
approval.
yessss
I'm happy to find more people that know about the matrix protocol!
That's great! Feel free to DM me or any of the mods any time if you or anyone you know would like to help out with development .

Like PB and J. :face savoring food:
The suggestion has been made already but a matrix chat box as part of the site would be dope.
I don't agree with chat, it's addictive, but if they must do it let them do it here at home. Harm reduction :grinning face:

Have you tried more sexy Garfield posting
Do these embedded images display for others? Because they don't for me.
What embedded images are you talkin about? Do you mean the emojis, like the :af-heart: you get when you type

Hey. Thanks for following up on this.
:af-heart:
Ok, this... is a bug. Thank you for mentioning it, and for the screenshots. I'll bring it up with the devs :)
