I loved the original but that fucking blows. The worst part is that with a Nintendo first-party game, it's not like you can wait a year or two and pick it up at 50% off, you know it's still going to be $70 five years from now. I haven't pirated Switch games yet but this might be the one that pushes me over the edge.

I bought that last year as a gift for someone for $40 from Target.

I don't have a Switch and I've certainly never accessed the Nintendo e-shop but... that shit sounds like a scam lol

It is. I still sometimes use it when there's a sale because I hate going to the mall and my desktop is from 2014, but even then I feel like I'm getting ripped off.

I have consistently bought the wrong games physical vs e shop. Smash, Mario Kart, and Mario Party, the games I use the most often and will never get rid of, I have physical. Which means I have to walk across the room to swap them out.

But don’t worry, I always have access to fucking Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle, because I bought that one on the Eshop and can’t trade it in or sell it.

If you have NSO, you can pay $100 for two vouchers that can be redeemed for certain games, including TotK, so you can basically get it for $50, though you'll need to have another game you want to buy. And unfortunately they expire after a year, so you can't just hold on to the second voucher for a long time.

(Not excusing Nintendo or anything, just letting people know they can get it for cheaper if they're going to buy it.)
