I compel anyone who thinks that to watch Masaki Kobayashi's 9 1/2 hour The Human Condition (Ningen no Joken). a "movie" cannot be 9+ hours long. i'm sorry if names mean anything a project that literally cannot be seen uninterrupted in a business day at a theater is not a movie. its some kind of series. no-body has a problem with series existing, but its pure pretension to act like this or that series is a film but other ones are a somehow lower form. so sorry you couldn't leave enough on the cutting room floor & have to grouped in with TV people, cry me a river
They literally do festivals in Japan for it where they show it in ONE FULL SITTING, if that's gonna be your technicality to die by.
