After I fought Radahn, my first thought was "Any other game would be grateful to have Radahn as it's ultimate boss fight. And here he's just number 2 or 3."

The music, the scenery, the fuck-you purple laser arrow to the face the second you enter the fight, the stupid little horse, the "raid-boss" style, the comet attack.

Even the lore implications and post-fight cutscene is epic. He was holding the stars themselves to stop fate from progressing and killing him releases all that time lost at once, blowing a giant hole into Limgrave.

Also he was hard as nails right after release and taking him down was a real accomplishment.

10/10, would get insta killed by purple flying rocks again

Radahn also serves to introduce some of the spirits you'll encounter later in the game as well as Blaidd and Alexander if you missed their previous meetings.

        spoiler

Also the subtle implications of Seluvis keeping track of you via his finger maiden puppet.

agreed, Radahn still stands as the one greatest truly epic moment in gaming, IMO, just incredible boss fight design all the way

It's not difficult, or particularly interesting, mechanics-wise, but goddamn is it flashy. One of the best looking sequences in a game that's already very pretty to look at.

I found it great, but then I was a mage and it was a considerable step down for me in difficulty from Rennala, even before the nerf.

In retrospect getting into his boss arena and having no idea what's going on only to be immediately domed by an arrow is perfect comedy

I was staying with a friend of mine after the game had just come out, and was watching him play Elden Ring for 5 minuttes, when he randomly stumbled upon the entrance to the Randahn fight. Unaware, he just clicked on the teleport thingy, and was dropped into the desert and instantly got flattened by the arrows. Honestly was a 10/10 moment, just for his reactions alone.

Eh, it was flashy, but unsatisfying. I found it the most frustrating boss by far.

Not saying Malenia was easier, only that I actually felt like I made progress fighting her. Radahn was just a royal pain in the ass, and I really didn't have fun trying to figure out how to fight him.
