Idk why I think this is extremely funny. I even like cats--I'd have one as a pet if I wasn't allergic.

Hot take: If you're a vegan and down with purging or reeducating the bourgeois you should also be down with purging or re-educating all obligate carnivores.

        Why should that matter?

The purpose of purging or re-educating the bourgeouis is not to punish them for being bad people. Most of them are not bad people. The purpose is to end their cut-throat and systematic exploitation of the working class.

Similarly, if the goal of veganism can be said to be to end the ruthless predation and exploitation of the animal world why should that end at humanities exploitaiton?

Why should we allow a cat to torture and kill a chicken when we would not allow a human to do the same?

It is certainly no different for the chicken.

Thing is cats are obligate carnivores so they would have to be buying meat products to keep said cat alive.

Then you're letting an invasive apex predator decimate local wildlife. I know I did this before I knew better, he sure is a cute little murderer but god damn are they efficient killers.

cats being obligate carnivores is only relevant in nature. in pretty much the same way vegan humans need artificial b12, vegan cats need some artificial nutrients like taurine and live a perfectly healthy life.

    from wikipedia:

Specifically, cats have high protein requirements and their metabolisms appear unable to synthesize essential nutrients such as retinol, arginine, taurine, and arachidonic acid; thus, in nature, they must consume flesh to supply these nutrients.[6][7]

the label "obligate carnivore" is only relevant in nature. in pretty much the same way human vegans need artificial B12, vegan cats need a few artificial nutrients such as taurine but can otherwise be fed a vegan diet. now, before some triggered omni is crying about animal abuse because veganism is not "natural enough" for a cat: think about where cat food comes from. the suffering of the animals who make up cat food is far greater than the suffering of a vegan cat. it's just that most of you don't give a single shit about animals you designate as food.

since vegan cat food needs some special additives and can't contain some things, it's best to just buy it:
