...and kids too.

Like less normal than us.

I actually understand where OP is coming from

Donald Glover's Atlanta covered this in a 3 minute scene https://youtu.be/EMSrjJngnkY?si=DsbEy0i089k6lGby

I think this might be a thing where because we're all chronically online, we're assuming this is a weird online take but it might actually just be a normal take but we're not normal enough to realize it's normal

Nah it's weird. And I think you're misunderstanding that clip the takeaway isn't that reactionaries like dogs and normal people don't Darius is sort of definitionally not normal, and he likes dogs anyways.

I definitely think OP has a point where reactionaries who don't have solidarity or feelings of connection and belonging with fellow humans are more likely to be weird dog people tho

I really don't see it. The opposite in fact. With only one exception, every weird dog/cat/bird/lizard person I know is more social, more accepting, and more empathetic than the average person I meet.

IME, dog people are just liberals. Reactionaries tend to hate animals period and don't have what it takes to take care of a dog without physically abusing them and progressives tend to like animals, including animals who aren't their pets. The type of person who's really into their dog but doesn't want to install a bird feeder in their backyard is just an average liberal in terms of politics.

Wasn't there some prank TV show from the 00's that literally genuinely did the dog-target schtick at a gun range. I remember that being an Obama era joke.
