    Part of it might be how knee-jerk it is for many to assume that the other person in an argument must be a "shut-in" that needs to "touch grass" just because they don't like the person's argument or don't like them as a person.

    Earnest appeals tend to get swallowed up in that hostility.

      IDK it's normal to disagree about a person's point of view that doesn't mean I start drawing conclusions about their life that's what desperate weirdos do

        I wouldn't say it's common enough to be normal but it does happen sometimes.
