Bonus points for finding obscure memes that only got traction for half a day
Worst meme is probably the alt right.
IDK if it's the best meme, but one of my favorites is the Maoist Campaign Against the Landlords copypasta. Wikipedia has since edited the page on that topic to be a lot more negative and remove the reference that got copied everywhere, but I will never forget that it was the largest and most comprehensive proletarian revolution in history, and led to almost totally equal redistribution of land among the peasantry
I tried remembering the worst meme,
but then I took an arrow to the knee
God there used to be entire reddit accounts dedicated to this shit :cringe:
I knew a guy who claimed he wrote a regex to autoreply to something like
/are you a real ${something}?
with "Well, uh, technically... nah."
thank god they removed downvotes on this site cuz my gut reaction upon reading this was to look for that damn arrow.
:yea: i meant it as the worst meme of the decade. it didn't last very long either.
Remember rage faces? Remember when every single fucking meme was rage faces?
That's over 10 years ago lol
Also, they're the slightly less annoying predecessor of the Wojak. Even Trollface is less smug in spirit than your average Wojak.
Dat Boi/ it is wednesday my dudes really never got old for me. simple and generally not political so it wasn't really coopted by chuds or annoying folk.
I think the weekly memes are fun. Out of Touch Thursday is still something i giggle at on twitter.
I actually associate the Wednesday frog with annoying r/de liberals lol
i actually watched The Nutshack because of the memes. It was awful in the best possible way.
For a while there were memes of fake Zuckerberg Facebook posts where he’s openly an unhinged psycho, I think it was too complicated to catch on
I'll admit it, I have a soft spot for those caveman SpongeBob memes from like 2017 lmao
I don't know why it just spoke to me, ya know :spongebob-party:
:geordi-no: The entire cursed cryptofascist family of appropriated "that feel when" and Pepes, often mutating into increasingly hideous forms like Groyper
:geordi-yes: Geordi's Epic Maneuver on YTMND
I really like the Let's Go Brandon meme
I swear, if you watch the original 30 second video that birthed the meme it's hilarious
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axcmVFtwSM4
Big Chungus remains greatest meme of all time
But for the decade? uhhh I'm gonna go with Lego Yoda or the John Cena punchline
dat boi is the best meme ever and it's not even close.
there are no bad memes.
I love how mad that meme made people. I had a friend who was convinced that dat boi was a crypto fash stand in for pepe lmao
The worst persistent not-directly-political meme is "who hurt you?" :very-intelligent:
It was super popular on :reddit-logo: and used as a universal putdown/concern trolling combo. It reeks of ableism and passive aggressive bullying in a way that contaminates even the idea of people, yes, sometimes actually being hurt and that not being a thing to shame them for.
