BDSM as a pantomime of class structure is bourgeois hedonism. But as superstructure it is beneath our efforts to address in the immediate term. With a change in worker relations to power no one will have to work out their frustrations with hierarchy in a sexual manner and such culture will wither away along with the state.
This isn't an attack on anyone who participates in BDSM. Socialism won't be built in a day. Just like you would never invite your children or grandchildren to a play party or much, eventually no one will even want to be invited because social relations will have changed so much the idea of power play won't even be exciting anymore.
Listen my kink is struggle sessions so I love this struggle session about kinks but neither of u can actually know how these things will play out in a socialist future. It's literal idealism to take a hard line either way becuz it's completely unimaginable to actually comprehend in its complexity. Poo poo pee pee
Explain why masochism is the preferred sexual orientation then. And is sadism good or just a necessary evil? If I tell you I engage in racialized slave play will you still see me the same way? Am I not fully human if I don't have a paraphilia or will we evolve beyond our weird sexual hangups?
Social power will remain even absent economic exploitation, tbh. I mean that's how economic exploitation came into being in the first place.
It's fundamentally a consequence of social coalition-building, which itself boils down to a congruence of shared interests, & mutual personal familiarity/affinity.
That's not to say that you can't give workers as a class more, or less degrees of political power within a given society. I just don't really believe anymore, that we're going to create a society where everybody actually gets to matter.
You are correct on the scale of a generation, it's utopianism or liberalism to believe otherwise. But if you disagree read State and Revolution or listen to season 2 of Marx Madness if you want further analysis.

Spanked by the invisible hand.
:data-laughing:
The one with the pile of dildos on top of it?
:che-laugh:
This is a beautiful bit
So the anarchists are wrong when they promise us that "the people's stick" will spank us just as well as the current one?
Everyone knows that the sub holds all the power in a consensual scene so if you want "the people's stick" you can keep it.

Explain how under socialism the pain response will stop producing happy brain chemicals if you do it right?
