It drives me insane how "civil" and "level-minded" politicians act when they are doing things that will kill children.

How did Britain become so psychotically transphobic? I feel like it wasn't this bad 10 years ago. Conservative lobbying?

The Guardian published a bunch of TERF shit by Hadley Freeman 6-7? years ago and that made it acceptable to the centrist mainstream. Genuinely

A theory that kinda makes sense to me is that a TERFy brand of second wave feminism took root culturally here and spread throughout the establishment.

I almost get the feeling its not actually that much worse than anywhere else, looking at photos from terf rallies from the uk, they have a similar attendance to those in aus (and aus has 40mil less people)

At least healthcare is apparently little more accessible here, but I was still stuck jumping through hoops for months.

      I dunno comrades, shit sucks

not getting on puberty blockers when i was going through puberty is a thing i still cry over from time to time, cant even fucking imagine going through all the fucking hoops and then being told "Yeah, but you're too young to decide about anything actually, fuck you."

    cruelty beyond words

The whole cass review is really just pantheon-level of believing in nothing but process with a sprinkling of science as an ersatzreligion. It's a paper I'd've failed to attain a bachelors degree with but it sounds all sciency and smart and it's long so obviously it is the basis for political action because look at the science, what is epistemology

Mind, I'm not labouring under the impression they wouldn't have found another fig leaf but I swear to god if I ever become king of the world everybody is getting force-learned epistemology

Kids in high schools have to write better papers than the Cass Review to get passing grades. She cites a Reddit poll at a point. Reddit poll.

But no, more than forty years of various studies about satisfaction of surgery and hormones is the real weak science here.

I have trouble believing anybody except people who have never read another study will look at this review and think anything serious is within it. The "journalist" grifters pushing this have to know that it is a pile of nothing.

I believe in the even more dire option here; they just don't honestly don't. Journalists, at large, not having the first fucking clue about science or epistemology is such a widespread phenomenon I'm like 90% sure shit gets beat ouf ot them in whatever training they get

What I've noticed is that the prime requirement for being a Western journalist is being full of yourself and the ability to be confidently incorrect
