I always knew Wikipedia was garbage, but holy shit.
Also, their most used source on the Stalin page is a literal CIA agent. WTF!
ah, "Unknown" not even estimates.
Truly you could probably ask the Laotians and they could tell you the fucking estimates atleast
you mean to tell me inheritor of wealth and epstein plane enjoyer simon sebag montefiore lied to me when he said stalin was a pedophile? unbelievable.... just unbelievable....
The whole anti stalin thing that happened after his death also helped with ruining his image both in the USSR and outside. Kind of a stupid move by :corn-man-khrush: considering Stalin was not only responsible for industrialising the USSR, he also led the war against Germany and saved the slavic people from extermination.
:corn-man-khrush: also exaggerated a lot of crimes he blamed on stalin which are still taken as fact today.
Less to do with Wikipedia's bias than with a genuine lack of easily accessible information on the subject. Turns out American war crimes in the third world don't get lots of specific historical documentation. If you've got a source, make the edit yourself.
The RationalWiki article on Laos is disgusting: https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Laos
It does mention the US bombing, but it also uses Radio Free Asia as a source.
What the heck the first paragraph reads like a reddit comment instead of an "article". Why fucking bother with this shit when you can actualy just go and ask the 15yo on r/neoliberal instead.
That's just how the whole site is, even when they have a good take like shitting on :obama-drone: it's in the same style
Maybe someone should edit the page with a range of reasonable estimates. The talk page is silent, oddly enough.
