I don't give a fuck if a dog charges at them. It's still just a dog. Deal with getting injured (if it actually injures you) and prosecute the owner for not controlling their animal. I think it's very rare that pets actually attack though, they usually just charge then bark and jump a lot.
Sure but I'm a lot more scared of an Alsation to be honest and they're a whole lot more common here. Staffies and pits seem to be popular with bad dog owners so they get in trouble a lot.. Bulldogs seem to kill a lot more than anything else here in the UK though. It's still like 1 to 3 fatalities a year though which is quite low and looking through the list many of them are owners getting killed by their own dog.
I agree, I'm not gonna give anyone shit for spraying a dog either. I wouldn't necessarily give someone shit for being intimidated by a charging dog, and if an average citizen shoots it then I might let it slide. Cops need to be held to a higher standard, especially if they're gonna jerk off about their "bravery" and "service" all the time. Either one needs to be held liable for hitting (and fucking killing) a person, cops get a double (triple?) penalty vs. the civilian.
