full disclosure: I liked a lot of another show the writers did, the good wife, which this is a lesser spinoff from... they are absolutely libs but not quite aaron sorkin level braindead mostly because their characters are mostly pretty craven and immoral and there isn't the same weird reverence for hard work and institutions or whatever.

(they also did a one season flop set in DC about aliens that was somehow completely apolitical and iirc featured michael moore eating pussy. I watched all 13 episodes of that for some reason. you may or may not want to give them credit for being the first to make an epstein gag on their horny catholic x-files show Evil)

but I did not like the one season of this I watched so this could be pretty bad. will report back at some point. you can find it easily to stream on sketchy video places by searching "good fight s04e01" if you are curious.

I have now watched. As expected it's a pretty weird mix of technocratic fanfic (Liz Warren is on the Supreme Court! The Hillary administration is curing cancer! The scandals are all boring now!) and a reasonable alt-timeline hypothesis (HC winning = no MeToo movement and an overall complacency around sexual harassment because "we have a woman president now we need to get behind and we need women supportive not pissed off") which is all made more difficult to read for intent/iDeOlOgY because it's revealed to be the protagonist's 10-minute knockout dream following a totally this-episode's-plot-unrelated SWAT raid.

John Cameron Mitchell (aka Hedwig) makes a cameo as this universe's Milo Yabbaetc equivalent, now reduced to ironically covering Woody Guthrie on Trump TV with a guitar that says "This Machine Thrills Fascists" because this was written in 2020.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the most questionable element - in alt-world, Hillary has raised corporate taxes to the extent that the law firm has needed to broaden out to entertainment clients like Weinstein and will have to go bankrupt without him. Like....sure, yeah, OK.
