My buddy and I are having our first movie riffing night in many months and need some suggestions for a film to laugh at and/or thrash mercilessly. Hoping for something free to watch online or on Hulu. We've previously enjoy the hilarious lib-brain fantasy of JFK and the groping/harassment level nostalgia for useless boomers in The Trial of the Chicago Seven (should I report Sorkin tried to touch me in a bad place?). Can you help us??

    Battlefield Earth is John Travolta's Scientology movie. It's unspeakably bad. It has a 2.5 rating at Imdb. And it's bad in just the right way. It's an hilarious big budget flop. That's my favorite so-bad-it's good movie.

    It's the year 3000 A.D., and the Earth is lost to the alien race of Psychlos. Humanity is enslaved by these gold-thirsty tyrants, who are unaware that their 'man-animals' are about to ignite the rebellion of a lifetime.

    If you and your friend do a Dutch angles drinking game - you'll get alcohol poisoning. Wikipedia...

    Almost every shot in the film is at a Dutch angle, because, according to Roger Christian, he wanted the film to look like a comic book.

    The entire movie is a disaster. It's kind of incredible. Nothing is good. In scene after scene - you'll be asking "What were they thinking?"

      Exactly what I thought when I saw this. Didn't know is was a scientology op haha that makes it more hilarious. If I buddy hasn't seen this, I'm gonna suggest it or Assassin: 33AD so far.

        I'm serious about the drinking game. Dutch angles - don't do it. Unfortunately - I can't think of a drinking game that's non-toxic. Maybe each time they say "man animal".

        Ninja edit: "Man animal" is probably no good either. You don't want to do ~10+ shots. If not ~20.
