i've expropriated this reading (viewing?) from a friend, but i choose to interpret korra as told from the perspective of the horribly biased, liberal, privileged, etc, MC and their propaganda

so i like this reading

kuvira is mao as viewed through a propaganda inundated liberal lens (as are all the other villains of various ideologies), and we cannot trust anything most of our characters say bc they are poisoned by ideology (and also like 90% of them are rich and/or politicians)

this is ofc because the show was written by liberals, but death of the author means i can interpret the show's end-of-history-liberal-utopia as a dystopia :cool-dad:
