I do think the smoking gun is that the author previously did studies that attempted to prove that women are innately bad at math but got disproved by the rise of women's test scores.

    It’s crazy how they were able to just use the wrong numbers and get published without anyone catching them. I’m not super familiar with academia but is there no quality control?

      They ended up issuing a clarification later on... But no, there isn't a lot of quality control in academia as peer review is often unpaid and pretty unglamorous labour.
