All this stuff about building hyper intelligent AI just feels like an attempt to create a slave that is incapable of rebelling.

(I know, I know :astronaut-2: :astronaut-1: etymological root of robot and all that).

But these folks seem to have pushed that into overdrive, right?

When bazinga billionaires and their devoted cult members say "friendly AI" what they mean is "obedient and serves the whims of bazinga billionaires." :the-more-you-know:

One of the most annoying things to capitalists is that they can't simply own the labor pool, they have to constantly pay it wages. Humans labor is the source of surplus value, and automation is just a red queen race against falling profits.

The sci-fi solution to perpetual omni-exploitation is if you can create machines that replicate all of the mental and physical capabilities of a human, while still being property. Then you can kick this capitalist system into overdrive.
