Just screaming the word "Stupid!" over and over and over again in a loop, the moment you hit a thought-terminating post, seems to be the Reddit standard reaction.

The mod called me a troll, banned me, and muted me because I called him the minister of propaganda lol.

Sounds like a normal day on Reddit to me. I was going through accounts on a monthly basis as I tripped into this or that mod's bugaboos. Was posting behind an RDP for a while to avoid the periodic IP sweeps that Reddit Admins would do. Eventually, it occurred to me that this was a lot of effort for nothing but psychic damage.

Exactly. It's a machine you can't really beat. They have their agenda and they're going to whatever they want.

It does seem like they've reached a point where a lot of users are feeling alienated. It probably won't be a sudden death like Digg was, but I could imagine a slow decline to the point where it eventually loses a lot of its user base, and ultimately, value.

Keeping old.reddit.com around for as long as they did was a savvier move than they even realized, I think.

But if apps like RIF break, I wonder how many people even remember their accounts to sign back into the main site.
