Liberals hate history. It makes them very uncomfortable to be reminded of the truth.

Nah, I think they like what Biden did, they just aren't at the point where can say it out loud. I guess too much of it has the mark of the GOP next to it.

This is because right-wing opinions have been successfully stigmatized as low-class and low-status. Present them in public and everyone knows what it means: you're not welcome at the fancy dinner parties. In fact, you're not the kind of person who even goes to dinner parties. Your kind of party is a charcoal barbecue in the back yard, polluting the air with smoke and killing the planet with unethical meat consumption. Pass the cheap mass market piss beer and meth pipe, Cletus.

Libs will never consciously lower their own status to such an extent by publicly admitting they hold these low-status opinions, but boy they will secretly agree with and even vote for these opinions.

Anyone who's rich enough donates to both parties. Because it's remarkably cheap and why put yourself to the chance of losing? It's like the man said in one of my favorite movies, Sale of the Century.

"Whoever wins, we win. Whoever loses...we win."

Agreed, they need to constantly be in control of the narrative in order to maintain their sanity. Because as you said the true historical record disgusts them. It reminds them of how they are pathetic failures who can't get anything done, never have gotten anything done, and that progress is actually achieved in spite of them instead of because of them.

My favorite response to this is some variation of “I’m not homophobic! I just associate dicks and therefore men with dominance and consider submissiveness to be feminine and therefore bad!”

Lol "learn to think for yourself" they say as they blindly support their party line, get all epic bacon with their insults, and offer nothing of substance besides screaming "no you're wrong!" because you said something they don't like hearing.

It's getting way worse over there. I got my 15 year old (I know, I suck) account banned from r/news because I said Tara Reade moving to Russia isn't proof her accusations are false. The mod called me a troll, banned me, and muted me because I called him the minister of propaganda lol.

Just screaming the word "Stupid!" over and over and over again in a loop, the moment you hit a thought-terminating post, seems to be the Reddit standard reaction.

The mod called me a troll, banned me, and muted me because I called him the minister of propaganda lol.

Sounds like a normal day on Reddit to me. I was going through accounts on a monthly basis as I tripped into this or that mod's bugaboos. Was posting behind an RDP for a while to avoid the periodic IP sweeps that Reddit Admins would do. Eventually, it occurred to me that this was a lot of effort for nothing but psychic damage.

Exactly. It's a machine you can't really beat. They have their agenda and they're going to whatever they want.

It does seem like they've reached a point where a lot of users are feeling alienated. It probably won't be a sudden death like Digg was, but I could imagine a slow decline to the point where it eventually loses a lot of its user base, and ultimately, value.

Keeping old.reddit.com around for as long as they did was a savvier move than they even realized, I think.

But if apps like RIF break, I wonder how many people even remember their accounts to sign back into the main site.

It's wild. They'll just bring up a list of things and say "oh wow you're checking all the boxes like 'manufacturing consent' or 'war is a racket' lol ur a stereotype" but they don't actually have anything to refute what you're saying. It's not a place for intelligent conversation.

Biden is still all of those things, it's just that the culture has shifted in a way that he doesn't understand, so he doesn't know when he is supposed to say he supports them and when he's supposed to pretend that he doesn't. He mostly just mumbles platitudes as a result.

    Analyze the reaction:

    1. Accusing The Other of what the self is guilty of; i.e. Biden isn't demented (he clearly is), you are.

    2. You're a Republican. I.E. by firmly placing the dissenter into the position of The Other.

    3. Deliberate disinformation. The Clinton defense: deny, deny, deny.

Learn to recognize this pattern. You'll see it a lot once you learn what it looks like.

it's just the same 'russian bot' nonsense they've been brushing everyone who doesn't toe the line off with for the past 7 or 8 years. You'd think the internet is mostly russian bots with a few redditors mixed in.

I did a little thought experiment with ChatGPT a few weeks ago, not claiming scientific results, but I cut and paste two chat threads from reddit and asked it to provide a scientific wild-ass guess as to how many were bots. It came back and on the first one, stated that 40% appeared inauthentic, and on the second, that 60% appeared inauthentic, based on factors such as one or two word responses, simplistic responses, etc... Pretty interesting, I thought.

Nah, no way Trump wins. It will never be allowed. The intelligence agencies have seized full control and they will not let go again in our lifetimes. Trump was a colossal mistake that should have never been allowed to happen, and you can be damned sure it taught them a stinging lesson they will not forget. If you want a vision of the future governance of America, look at Pakistan, when this process happened back in the 90s.

It was a different office when JFK was in power. There were real levers of power extending from the government into the productive economy, a relatively robust social safety net, and a population that wanted peace after half a century of global conflict.

If the president looked like he was going to really and truly overturn the status quo, sure, we might see real action from the various agencies. But Trump is no more a threat then Biden is.

They want someone who will do what they want to do. Trump does that 90% of the time but is too stubborn to control the remaining 10%. Any other realistic candidate is going to do what they want 100% of the time.

Biden has done far more harm in his career in politics than trump could in his short time as clown in chief. Also Biden didn’t just support the Iraq war, he worked his ass off to get the invasion started.
