The perception of anti-Israel being the same thing as antisemitism is still around. The Israel lobbyists (and the CIA, probably) have done a masterful job of interlinking the idea that Judaism is the same thing as Zionism, and they're both manifest as the state of Israel. It's an incredibly efficient mental block that tempers any liberal criticism of Israel and it makes us look like racist antisemites.
Most of us seem to call for the complete dissolution of Israel as a state. Liberals already think BDS is antisemitic, so imagine how we sound.

They'll believe whatever they're told to believe. It's not about convincing people with evidence (that's debatebroism) but it's about telling them they aren't accepted by the ingroup if they don't. Since being accepted by the ingroup is the most important thing in their lives, you could tell them shit tastes good and they'd eat a mouthful. The alternative is to be The Other, cast out, downvoted and banned, in the dunk tank with Matt Walsh and Elon Musk.
