Don't worry, try a usb boot with ubuntu or whatever the cool kids use, if you don't feel like it, yer conputer remains intact
You have programming socks now so you need to learn how to use Linux. Step 1: download Linux onto a USB drive. Step 2: plug the drive into your computer and restart it. Step 3: Tell the computer to boot from the USB instead of C:/
Those programmer socks aren't working then.
It's easy, to try (for example) ubuntu all you need is one usb stick/drive/wjatever it's called.
-
Get a usb stick, without anything inside cuz it will be deleted
-
Download an .iso file from ubuntu.com with the latest version
-
Then you gotta use a program (idk how it's called in windows) to put that .iso into the usb so it becomes like a C: drive
-
Turn off your computer, plug the usb, turn it on
-
Yer launching ubuntu from the USB now, choose "don't install, just try"
-
Try it
-
If you don't like it, turn off your computer, plug out the usb and nothing bad happened.
If you happen to like it the most reccomended step is to install linux alongside windows, so when you turn your comouter on you can choose which OS to use.
Also from linux you can access all your files stored in the C: windows drive and any storage D: etc drive. BUTT from windows you wont be able to see the files stored in the linux partition

The thighs, they're high folks.
I'm sorry for doubting.
seeing hexbear open on a screen other than my own is a surreal experience
there's no way another human uses this website and like opens it and looks at it on a computer
You can tell this is fake because someone terminally online doesn't have an absolutely cluttered desk.
You think the extension cord hanging from the wall with no support would fool me but I know better.
you know what, you get the +1 point back for having DE as your background.
