I tend to agree, but as we mentioned in the Land of the Lustrous thread, it is possible to create an incredible work of art with 3D if you approach it creatively and don't sacrifice animation frames

Man, I love hbomberguy's videos. I watched an almost three hour long video about an anime I have never heard of and enjoyed the entire thing. I would love to hear a reaction from someone who loves (hell, or absolutely hates) RWBY.

If you enjoy long videos about things you don't care about, try watching one of Jenny Nicholson's videos on theme parks some time. She's very good at this sort of thing.

it's a fun enough spectacle to watch when you're drunk? and youtube videos about people getting way too into the show have been entertaining for years.

Late reply sorry! It's not so much that he just gets really into it. When he critiques things, media, ideas, it always starts off very focused and simple and gets more detailed and meta as it goes on. His videos hit like a Gabriel Garcia Marquez novel, where they start out with a simple proposition that is obscured by each detail following the previous.

Yeah, RWBY was a show with so much promise. I wish he'd gone more in depth with the latter volumes but maybe he will in the future. I don't think the newer volumes are bad per se. But 4 and 5 really hurt them. I never even cared about the animation issues. In fact, it makes it all the more endearing. I love the characters and just seeing a show with a primarily woman cast is rare enough on it own. Wish Ruby was still a weapons nerd. She doesn't need to be the protagonist imo. I think they should've killed Ren and Nora too in Volume 3. Really show how dangerous everything is.

I think part of the problem may be that the creator--Monty Oum--actually died like three years in to the show, so it might not carry his original vision. Personally I liked the "bad" 3D style more than the updated graphics volumes

Good video. Reminded me why I stopped watching RWBY an episode or two in.
