    I’ve literally been there. Multiple. Times.

        It’s just our brains being weird. We don’t actually look at most things very carefully and make a lot of assumptions.

        Hence, my surprise at looking at a map and seeing this tiny strand of Mexico and thinking it’s weird despite literally being there not too long ago.

        That’s all the Mandela effect is, really. Like, I objectively know I’ve looked at a map and seen this before but it doesn’t fit with the assumption of Mexico being just…one big mass below the US.
