This is a direct result of 3rd party apps for Reddit like Apollo and RIF shutting down on June 30 in response to the recent changes (like Reddit demanding $20m a year).

The mod says their work will be too hard w/o these apps as the official one is dogshit.

Sad day.

Also, much love to our mods/admins. Hopefully moderating this site is better than Reddit.

We should make effort (and from the link, it seems like some people already are) to onboard /r/traa refugees. Thanks to the ruthless purging of all transphobic elements that was present in the nascent Hexbear community, this truly is one of the most trans inclusive spaces. It's probably even more than /r/traa because I remember trans men and enbies not liking /r/traa for centering trans women.

If nothing else, Hexbear has pronoun flairs, something that neither lemmy nor beehaw have. This is a non-negotiable point if you don't want to constantly get misgendered by he/him pronouns. It will take time for a traa instance to be build, which means some /r/traa refugees will inevitably trickle over to Hexbear.
