      it melts my fucking brain that so many of these people sit in the country with the world's largest prison population while accusing every official state department adversary of being authoritarian

        Authoritarianism is when Stalin personally sends people to ‘labor camps’ but it’s not authoritarianism when millions of Americans are in ‘prisons’ that just happen to have work programs

          In 'private' prisons. You see they aren't part of the state, even though the state legitimates their violence.

        That's it. The words mean nothing to them, they're mere signifiers of 'the other'.
