Lol fuck off, it's a valid concern. We are too big of nerds, not honed enough in shit-posting, to deal with reddit culture right now. We have a totally different culture than r/cth. A better culture imo. It'll be a shame to watch it all go to shit.

That's like saying the reddit dweebs that got clowned in the old subreddit made the subreddit go to shit, it didn't.

          Literally not the same thing.

It didn't make the old subreddit go to shit because the old subreddit's entire posting culture was based around dunking on redditors. This forum's posting culture is not. On the old subreddit, I would have posted 'lol we're gonna get fucked, loser' or 'fuck, go read a book so you can learn how to do analogies'. On here, I'm actually trying to dialog with you. There was a good reason r/moretankiechapo existed outside of just mod disputes.

I'm trusting the mods on this one, but sallying forth into the fray was not the chapo mo, picking out individuals and leading them back to chapo to dogpile was the main method of attack. Fight your battles where you are strongest.

That's fine, I've been doing this a long time and I may be abit too cynical. I just would rather not see this place have to go through a kerryposter phase again. I'm trusting the mod team to keep a lid on things.

I do trust the mod team and the community to keep things where they need to be. I'd really like to see a return of some exiled r/cth users , I'm sure there's a good amount that don't have any idea we exist, but might hear about our instance as the "r/cth remnants" or whatever and find their way back.

There's a good chance we will leech off plenty of other users too over time. I am not a huge fan of dunking like many people on here, but it's an excellent tool for me, since I can be a "good cop communist]" and deliver some facts with a bit of lib smugness that they love, but tempered down from the comrade next to me that posted ppb. "Yeah that guy is an unreasonable tankie, but you do need to understand that there has been a lot of NATO encroachment toward the Russian border and......"

Yeah exactly, if you read any book dedicated to Che there is not enough content to write a book without it being generally positive because that's what his life was.

Authoritarianism is when a man leads a revolt against slaveowners, or when a moderator won’t let me say slurs, but not when the a neoliberal empire genocides millions in the Middle East in the name of line go up

Authoritarianism is when Stalin personally sends people to ‘labor camps’ but it’s not authoritarianism when millions of Americans are in ‘prisons’ that just happen to have work programs

What the fuck does the word Tankie even means? Nothing, just a word without meaning that Americans like to say because they think it will destroy any argument.

Also, i fucking love when they mix up Che Guevara with Fidel Castro and Joseph Stalin. Like, if someone is a famous communist they must have been a evil head of state that commited genocide.

Every liberal political opponent is guilty of genocide now. It's the first accusation they make.

They even went there in the the Russia-Ukraine war. Nothing is beyond the scope of genocide, now. They've completely trashed the gravity of the word.
