China's skyrocketing renewable energy sector has lead to them reaching the goal of less than 50% of power capacity being fossil fuels two years ahead of schedule. Solar power has increased by 33% and wind has increased by 12% in the last year.
Important caveat: this refers to peak generation, which is not often achieved in practice with weather dependent power sources like solar and wind. Actual power consumption was at 28.8% for renewables in 2020, with the current five year plan aiming for 33% by 2025. For comparison, the US is currently at 20%.

It doesn't matter because I was told today by a coworker that Chinese society is going to collapse within a decade.
:who-must-go:
The day God Emperor Xi finally dabs on an American president will be truly hilarious. Unfortunately, the news will probably just be about China's imminent collapse and how America is entering a new period of greatness because the rate of increase in mortality from consuming radioactive pork rinds has dropped slightly. Regulating the production of pork rinds, or even requiring warning labels, has been declared unconstitutional.
Tell him he’s stupid because it already collapsed in 2020
It's funny because he's not stupid, but he also doesn't have my same brainworms. His energy is directed elsewhere. He's currently working on a plan to sell his poop. In any case, it's interesting to see what messaging on China is being taken in by someone that's not predisposed to be skeptical of China imminent collapse news.
Also, modern China is really just a Potemkin China. Real China collapsed a long time ago and no longer exists.
You got a better idea?
Edit: :tito-laugh: I know, but this is also a real plan.
My plan is to touch a poop for $100, and I think that's better yes
