The 'We will stop climate change' video is the one that was completely unforgivable to me. Absolutely uncloaked propaganda out on display.

Edit: Like, the eco-fascism I can believe that they actually believe that part. I can easily believe they get horny about depopulation. But the climate change video? There's no way those ~meticulous researchers~ actually believe that we can stop climate change with innovations like better light bulbs. That was just lying to be part of a chorus of complacency.

I hear way more people talking about seeing bad opinions on hexbear than I see myself, are you sorting by modlog or something?

Translating from Ulysses talk: "I've seen people defending X even on Hexbear" usually means "there was a wrecker with a bad take two years ago and now I'm going to make it sound like it's a common thing."

Either way I didn't intend to dunk, I just genuinely don't see the slop people mention here sometimes. I presume that's because our mods are doing an excellent job.

Sorry that people took my comment and jumped on it to dogpile.

It became pretty clear is was a façade once they started touching social issues, and their thesis was "everything is gonna better"

I'm just surprised people feel like they can characterize your posting. I don't remember shit specific users say unless it's either exceptionally based or atrociously bad.

I'm glad I rotate accounts every few months or so, even if it means I don't build rapport over time.

I may have been a radlib at the time, but I don't think Kurzgesagt was pumping out propaganda from the outset. It was mostly shit about physics and black holes and cool nerd stuff. Feels like all of that was a Trojan horse for the propaganda in retrospect.

I know the exact CGPGrey video you're talking about too 💀

“99% of humans killed off is a victory for the 1%!”

I have not seen this one, and I'm so glad I stopped watching holy shit

The art style is cute in a more early 2000s kinda way, but it's absolute lib shit. Same vein as all of those alternate history anti-material garbage channels.

For bystanders, unless you're into hate watching, don't.

I believe it was the “what happens if there’s a big calamity that threatens life on Earth” video. Yeah its conclusion was that it’d be great for the 1% that remains

Was this a recent video? I feel like tons of media has been doing leg work to prep the masses for escalating conflict with China and downplaying the threat of nuclear war.

I liked the art style because it was quirky, and very well made.

My lib propaganda sensors were faulty at the time, but it's obvious now why the production quality was so high.

Shame that a name drop of climate change is enough to get libs to buy into right-wing narratives.

There are Kurzgesagt apologists on my Hexbear? :lenin-rage: Kurzgesagt's neoliberal bias is so obvious (which they themselves describe as 'optimistic nihilism' lmao), I'd question any 'socialist' who defends that garbage. That video they did on how we'll fix climate change, was probably one of the most abhorrent pieces of false optimism I've ever seen.
