I never got the third TimeSplitters game when it came out and seeing this character for the first time recently made me do a bit of a double take. Pretty sure she is underage too which is a bit, uhh

    Yeah, the joke is that she's supposed to be an awkward teen and paranormal geek who's massively overcompensating with her outrageous Hot Topic fashion and it feels like it's riffing on 2000s media and trends

        I mean, it just goes to show that like 90% of male creatives want to make female characters that they empathize with...and also want to fuck. Because that's culturally difficult to disentangle for people I guess. They can imagine making a vulnerable female character by this time, but apparently can't imagine her not being a sex object. Because as you say, uh what exactly was the empowerment of modeling a character in that detail?
