What's your tofu press setup? I go cutting board, paper towels, tofu, paper towels, pan, then a bag of rice

    i do plate, paper towels, tofu, paper towels, cast iron skillet - no need for additional weight, since the cast iron weighs enough on its own

    i do end up with the paper towels soaked through though, so maybe i need to add more?

      Plate or cutting board, tofu wrapped in paper towels, heavyish glass dish that I then reuse for marinade or coating or whatever

      If you're not spilling the liquid everywhere you're probably fine.
