I had the drift happen with my previous mouse, never really knew why. A mousepad might fix it, I think it was reading stuff that wasn't there on my wooden table (like the depth of the grain).
As for the click it's probably the mechanism breaking down. I usually get the dreaded double click (a click registers as two) or the unregistered click when I start having problems with my mice.
I switched to a Zowie EC-2 mouse and I'm super happy with it. The cable feels almost non-existent and it's recommended specifically for its durability due to having Haino switches (IIRC) that are just much more durable than the switches typically used. A bit pricy but I can likely keep it for 10 years. Only had it for 6 months though.
so there's two possibilities - you need a new mouse or you've been hacked and someone is remote controlling your computer. one of these problems is much cheaper to fix than the other so I suggest trying that first.
Yeah I'd move the mouse to a front USB port and if it starts moving and clicking on its own, yank the cable. If it keeps moving and clicking on its own, install Linux.

This is really specific, but I had a PS4 controller connected to my computer, and sometimes the touchpad would randomly send mouse inputs. It was really confusing and it took me quite a while to figure it out.
