        This was the realization that changed the way I viewed the world.

        The barbarism was always there. We are just conditioned to accept a certain type of it as normal.

          never embrace it. ive seen that happen. "well we are barbaric thats just the way it is so why bother"

            It's definitely a bad thing, just interesting how much we are intentionally desensitized to the societal murder Capitalism carries out.

            It is that violent undercurrent that will eventually destroy this current form of civilization. Building upon brutality in a society with nuclear weapons (or worse, one day.) is a ticking timebomb. Understanding that is in no way embracing it.

          In current history, yes. But it wasn't always that way in many parts of the world. I've mentioned how indigenous history around the world has a common theme: There was a long period of brutal barbarism and some cultures managed to create a balance that was more ideal for an extended period of time. Plenty of others continued with barbarism and others also decided to develop further into nation-states.

          How your present culture ends up depends on a lot of things, but I am inclined to agree that it will probably be a long period of barbarism in the US before a more ideal society arises in certain parts of the country.
